Yeah, it sucked. I was on my way to work this morning, in rush hour traffic. It was just starting to clear up and the girl in front of me made a regular stop...no slamming on the brakes or anything like that. It was stop and go traffic. As I was stopped I looked in my rear view mirror and saw the guy coming toward me and knew he was going to hit me. I pushed harder on my brakes to try and avoid hitting the girl in front of me. He hit me and I hit her...hit her just barely though. There is virtually no damage to her car. Only the slight imprint of my license plate in her bumper. I do not have visible damage to the front...the back is a different story. I will most likely need my bumper replaced. The guy that hit me didn't even ask if I was OK. As soon as we pulled off to the side of the road I and got out of our cars, I immediately asked the girl in front of me if she was OK, and she in turned asked me. I walk over to the guy and he is standing in front of his car, with his hands on his hips just looking at me. Seeing as he wasn't going to inquire about my well being, I went ahead and asked him if he was OK. He said "yeah" in his broken English...and then thats it. Cops showed up soon there after.
Come to find out this guy doesn't have a valid IL driver's license. He is insured though, thank god. I was not cited for anything as I obviously didn't do anything wrong. He got cited for not having a driver's license and the accident. Despite how hard the impact was my little Mazda3 held up pretty well. A lot of the impact was absorbed by the bumper.
I couldn't help but wonder how on earth you can be insured but not have a valid driver's license. This guy had some Russian consulate driver's license, which if it was less than 90 days old would have been valid....he said that he had been living in the country for over a year. How could his insurance remain current on a DL that is only valid for 90 days?! Ugh, whatever...it'll get sorted out I guess.
I'm not hurt. I was a little shaken up, but I'm ok. We'll see how I feel when I wake up tomorrow morning.
I bet this will delay O even further....bastard. Didn't this douchebag know that I was gearing up to O and now he might have delayed it?! ugh....so annoyed ;)

Im glad you're ok! Accidents are scary and stressful but it sounds like your car can be fixed.
The whole driver's license and insurance thing is crazy. He most likely got the insurance with the temp Russian thing he had and then just never followed up on his license. Its nuts but Im glad he had insurance.
I hope the accident doesn't delay O. Try to relax tonight and tomorrow!
Oh, hun I am so glad to hear you are ok. I hope you still O soon!
That sucks. Hope you are OK.
Oh, M! I'm glad you're okay. I'm also glad he has insurance. Ugh. I hate car accidents.
Try to relax. Take a long bubble bath and drink some chamolile tea. I'm hoping it doesn't delay your O.
((hugs)) from Wed
Ugh, that really sucks! What an ass.
I'm glad to hear that you're alright. Maybe you should get a massage to destress and keep O on schedule :oP
I'm glad your ok!! Accidents are very scary, and hopefully your ok to drive. I had one a few years back and was so nervous driving(especially on gravel roads)
That is odd about the insurance, but thankfully its still valid so you can get your car fixed!
