I suck at blogging....

Looks like I've been neglecting my blog! I can't say that its entirely without reason. I normally update my blog at work and have been so insanely busy that I just don't have the time. When I get home I don't even want to look at the computer.

As you can see from the ticker up top, we are approaching Gabriella's 1st birthday. I have mixed emotions about it. I am of course so excited with every new phase in her life, but the fact that my baby is already almost a year old is unfathomable. Her latest and greatest:

-Crawling like a pro. She was full-time army crawling about a month ago (so right at about 10.5 months). Then about 2 weeks ago she decided she was faster if she actually got up off her stomach. She is ridiculously fast now!
-Pulls up on everything. She will find the tiniest ledge on anything above her an pull up on it.
-Eating lots more table food. I'd say were at about 60% table food to 40% baby food.
-Dropped her 4th bottle. We are now at 3. One 1st thing in the AM (but I think she could hold out till mid-morning if I waited), one with lunch, and one before bed. She's averaging about 15-18oz per day.
-Getting more familiar with her sippy. She usually just likes to play with it, but is making more sip attempts actually leaning her head back.
-She loves Leo and the fridge and will bolt to either at any given moment. The fridge specifically if she sees its being opened .
-Likes to cuddle and be cute. She loves to crawl up to me (if I'm on the floor with her) and then either roll onto me or wrap her arms around my neck and babble "mamamamamama"

I think that's about it. We'll be having Gabriella's 2nd plane trip on memorial day weekend for my BFF's wedding. Yes, she is the flower girl :)

I leave with a few new pics:

The latest and greatest

I have totally neglected my blog and I apologize!

What's new around here, hmm...let's see....

Gabriella is freaking hilarious. She just totally silly all the time and I love it. Oh, this is heart melting (and most of you already have heard this ;): last week we were playing while I was getting ready for work. I sat on the floor next to her and she reached over, grabbed my head, brought it to hers and said, very softly "mama." OMG, I melted into the floor. I am still reliving that moment in my mind, it was so sweet.

She is also starting to stand for play. I stand her up at her musical table and she plays while standing. Not for long, but still, that's new for her. She has been getting up on all fours sporadically, but nothing really resembling forward movement in that regard. She loves to fall backwards from sitting now to get onto the floor and she lunges forward from sitting onto her stomach. She continues to love banging things together and loves to stick her index finger into holes...mainly my nose when I am giving her her bottle.

She is also venturing further into table foods. Thus far she has had random cooked veggies, bread, pancakes (blueberry and buttermilk), and blueberry waffles. This weekend I think I want to try cheese with her. I am thinking of making her grilled cheese. She loves to feed herself and has a very good pincer grasp. She still loves to shove 5 puffs in her mouth at a time though and it seriously freaks me out every time.

Updates with me--well, I am trying to slim down and tone up. I have been working out 2 times a week for almost 4 weeks now. One day of it I swim laps and the other I work out in the gym. No real results as of yet, but hopefully I'll start to see something soon. I am so sick of being flabby. I'm really not used to it. My BFF is getting married in 6 weeks and I really would life to be in good form for that...and then of course for our vacation this summer.

I'll post pics as soon as I upload them.

Saying mama!

OMG--can I just talk about how this melts me down to the floor? Yesterday I left her sitting on the floor so I could get ready for work and she gave me this pout, and started whining "mamamamama" as she was lifting her hands up for me to lift her up. Of course I did. Not to mention that I smother her with kisses and hugs everytime she does it.

This morning she started clapping on her own without me prompting her. Baby clapping is seriously adorable.

No new movement stuff, but WOW is she getting super "gabby" lately. And no, you many not call her gabby. I'm serious. KThx.

Pics to come soon, I promise!

Quick update and 9 month appt

I am so slammed at work its ridiculous! So, this will be short but sweet. I was away this weekend for the 1st time since Gabriella was born. I went to CA for my best friend's bachelorette party. To say I experienced physical pain being away from her for that long would be an understatment, but I had so much fun. It was just what I needed.

Of course baby girl had to catch a nasty cold while I was away. She's still fighting it off. We went for her 9 month check up yesterday. Gabriella is 21 lbs, 8.5 oz (90th percentile) and 28.75 in long (75th percentile). She has been on those growth curves since about 2 months old. The pedi said she looked great and minus her cold, perfectly healthy.

Gabriella is still not crawling. The pedi wasn't concerned about this. Apparently at this point they just want to make sure they sit on their own well and Gabriella has been a pro at that for quite a while. Her mobility is limited to slithering around on her stomach and rolling. She has gotten up on all fours before, but no crawling yet. My own personal unprofessional opinion is that she's probably content to get around as she does for now and once she wants to start getting farther than she does, crawling might come into the picture. The pedi says that it really could happen at any moment now. So, the waiting game with that continues.

New things with her developmentally, she's learning how to clap and can babble really well. She can do ba, va, wa, ma, ga, ka, and ta. She really does "ba" and "ga" the most but when she gets on a roll a bunch come out! Its really funny. She did say "mama" the other day but not relating it to me. I almost cried though, it was so amazing to hear that come out of her mouth.

She loves banging things together with her hands. She would do this all day long if we let her. She also likes to slap her knees when she's sitting, or if you give her your palms, she'll clap on your hands. So cute!

I'll take some new pics this weekend :)

So much for a quick update! lol...
